Abstract:
The paper considers some distribution functions associated with two-dimensional kill probability, target evacuation, and distribution of populations. A general radial distribution is postulated and from it the probability density functions for the random phase angle and the x, y components are derived. The generalized radial distribution is then specialized to several useful functions that occur in kill probability problems and the corresponding special cases for the phase and component distributions are obtained. The results include a broad range of situations extending from uniform phase, Gaussian components and Rayleigh distance to generalized nonuniform phase and non-Gaussian component distributions where the latter functions are of particular interest.
