Letter to the Editor—The Mean Lanchester Attrition Rate

Abstract: This note describes a method for obtaining the Lanchester attrition rate when, as suggested by Barfoot, it is defined as the harmonic mean of attrition rates, or, equivalently, the reciprocal of the expected time to defeat a single target.
