Abstract:
This paper gives a general method for finding the distribution of the occupation time for single-server queues, discusses in detail queues with recurrent input and general service times, and gives some examples in which either the Laplace-Stieltjes transform of the distribution function of the inter-arrival times or the Laplace-Stieltjes transform of the distribution function of the service times is a rational function.
