Technical Note—The Waiting Time in the E k / M /1 Queuing System

Abstract: In a standard M / E k /1 queuing system, the average steady-state waiting time of an arriving customer decreases monotonically in k for a fixed arrival and service rate. This note establishes the analogous result for the dual system E k / M /1.
