On the Reliability of Repairable Systems

Abstract: This paper considers the time to first failure for repairable coherent systems containing independent exponential components. It derives several inequalities and relates them to previous work of the author and of Keilson to obtain approximations with error bounds for the distribution of the time to first failure.
