Abstract:
This paper presents a simple graphical technique applicable to a wide variety of transportation problems involving a large number of production centers and market areas. The assumption is made that transportation costs are monotonically increasing as one moves out from a given production center, but the rate of increase need not be constant or uniform in all directions.
