Abstract:
Situations continually arise in engineering design work where a choice must be made between alternatives. Typically, a design may be modified to improve it in one respect with resulting impairment in another respect. In such a case, the two opposing results must be weighted and a decision must be made. The following is an attempt to give a function of the design parameters, which yields the over-all value of the design.
