Abstract:
Today, operational research is well-known (by name at least) and a respected activity in many industries and in many countries. The International Conference on Operational Research recently held in Oxford bore witness to the world-wide application of the subject, and there can be no doubt that a great deal of effort is devoted currently to operational research throughout the world.
