Abstract:
A method is proposed for handling terrain line-of-sight questions in a digital computer. The formulas used are described. Some examples comparing computer calculated “invisible areas” with the results obtained from standard manual profiling techniques are included. This method has been applied to the problem of printing invisibility overlays for a standard military map using the IBM 709 computer.
