Abstract:
The solution to this problem is submitted not because it has any theoretical interest at this time---linear programming has gone quite beyond this---but because it seems to be a good classroom example of the use of linear programming in solving a type of OR problem to minimize the cost of a feed mix subject to the requirements laid down by the manufacturer as to the characteristics of this mix.
