Abstract: The development and applications of a terminal engagement model of a Monte Carlo type fighter-bomber battle is presented. Sequential progression and sampling techniques are applied to the fighter-bomber duel, allowing realistic evaluation of the effects of airborne vehicle and equipment characteristics, bomber countermeasures, fighter tactics and counter tactics, and fighter-bomber intelligence exchange upon the outcome of a terminal air battle. Possible extensions and refinements of the model are also presented.
