Abstract:
The individual ship-collision problem consists of the determination of a (curvilinear or polygonal) course that will avoid collision with any other ship and still arrive at a desired port, or approach a desired limiting course direction. The collective ship-collision problem consists of the determination of such courses for all of a given set of ships. This note will discuss only the former.
