Abstract:
The paper in its present form describes briefly the use of the exponential model for failure distribution to obtain, under certain conditions, the number of items of one type to supply at the start of an operation that consumes the items as a result of their failure. One condition is the confidence (alpha) that complete consumption will not occur before completion of the operation.
