Abstract:
Dr Schelling's paper (Schelling, T. C. 1961. Dispersal, deterrence, and damage. Oper. Res. 9 363--370.) admirably serves his purpose in calling attention to two important issues, the specific one of SAC bomber dispersal and the more general one of strategic alternatives to sheer blind destructiveness in a possible future U.S.-U.S.S.R. war.
