Abstract:
The limitations of a heuristic vehicle routing procedure proposed by Tillman for the multiterminal delivery problem are investigated. Because of limitations in the assignment of demand points to terminals, the procedure does not guarantee the optimality of its solution even when the solution consists entirely of single demand point-terminal linkings.
