¿Hacia dónde va el Banco del Sur? Revisando la experiencia del bndes en Brasil

Abstract: Los objetivos de este artículo son dos: 1) revisar la experiencia del Banco Nacional de Desenvolvimento Económico e Social (bndes) en su contribución al crecimiento económico de Brasil en dos periodos capitalistas, el keynesiano y el neoliberal; y 2) obtener algunas lecciones de esta revisión que puedan ser útiles para el futuro del Banco del Sur. La metodología usada en este trabajo es histórica-descriptiva y teórica-lógica. La primera sirve para revisar la historia económica de Brasil y la contribución que el bndes tuvo al crecimiento económico; y la segunda, se utiliza cuando se examina el papel del dinero en la acumulación de capital desde una perspectiva marxista./ Objectives of this paper are twofold: 1) to review the experience of the bndes (Banco Nacional de Desenvolvimento Econômico e Social) in its contribution to economic growth in Brazil in two capitalist-historical periods, the Keynesian and the Neoliberal, and 2) to obtain some lessons, based on this experience, which can be useful for policy-makers. The methodology that we use in this article is both historical-descriptive and theoretical-logical. The first one is used to review the Brazilian economic history and bndes’ contribution to economic growth, and the second is used in examining the role of money in capital accumulation with a Marxian approach.
