Abstract:
We analyze the opinion dynamics in a bounded confidence model through the dynamics of triads, defined as a group of three people, represented by a three-node subgraph. In particular, we focus on the closing and opening dynamics of triads as well as their transitions. It captures how structural relationships and confidence between individuals evolve over time, highlighting the network of influence between people. Our results show how some specific open and closed triads are involved in the convergence patterns obtained with the bounded confidence model. This study contributes to a deeper understanding of the transient dynamics in opinion dynamics and thus the emergence of opinion convergence patterns.
