Abstract:
This paper explores HRM research methodologies for large Korean enterprises at the population level, the foundation of which lies in evolution theory, especially organizational systematics. Despite all the achievements and developments in HRM researches, critical issues have been continually raised in relation to lack of approaches from the perspective of superior organizational theories in which HRM system originates. This paper suggests that researches on HRM and practices of Korean conglomerates be conducted based on organization theories; evolution theory in particular. This methodological approach of evolution theory in HRM researches provides a comprehensive and influential research framework by engaging advantages of other major organizational theories.
