Abstract: Tanulmányunkban az ultimátumjáték kísérleti eredményeinek értelmezésével foglalkozunk. Először a játékkal kapcsolatos irodalomban eddig felvetett magyarázatok kritikai vizsgálatát végezzük el. Majd kifejtjük, hogy miért érdemes komolyan venni a versengő indokok hipotézisét, amely szerint a haszonmaximalizálási megfontolásokon túl méltányossági szempontok is vezérlik a döntéshozókat ebben a játékban. Ezek a szempontok azonban nem preferenciákat fejeznek ki. Végül közöljük saját kísérleteink eredményeit.* Journal of Economic Literature (JEL) kód: C72, C78, C91, C92.
