Abstract: A tanulmány bemutatja és rendszerezi a működőtőke-áramlás telephelyválasztásalapú kereskedelemelméleti magyarázatait, illetve az azokkal kapcsolatos empirikus kutatásokat. A jelenleg főáramúnak tekinthető tudástőke-elmélet jelentős erényei mellett több hiányossággal is küzd. Úgy tűnik, hogy e szűkebb területen a jövő a komplex integrációs stratégiákat is kezelni képes modelleké. A közvetlen tőkebefektetések típusának - horizontális, vertikális, komplex - vizsgálata újabb dimenzióval gazdagíthatja azt a törekvésünket is, hogy a hagyományostól eltérő módon ítéljük meg egy ország világgazdasági integrációját, illetve annak dinamikáját.
