Abstract: In the recent years there has been a growing trend of violent criminality in Romanian rural environment. More and more acts of infanticide, collisions causing death, rape, homicide are committed in this social space once considered ,,culture creator”. This study proposes to identify socio - economic and cultural characteristics of individuals involved in acts of violent crime, to identify trends of their reference to the committed crime and to make correlations between risk factors and other social problems at a national level. The main hypothesis of the research relates to the general state of anomie of nowadays Romanian society, upon which are multiplied domestic violence and economic, social, educational, family problems. In this case it is recommended to conduct specialized studies at a national level and base on these to implement strategies and most propitious models of prevention and reduction of violent criminality in Romanian rural environment.
