Abstract:
The professional activity carried out by the police workers is one of the most stressful being associated with experience of burnout symptoms. In this occupational field, the burnout manifests with greater intensity than in other occupations. This study aimed to assess the dimensions of burnout (emotional exhaustion, feelings of depersonalization/cynicism, and reduced feeling of professional accomplishment) among the community police workers. The community police workers were compared with employees working in other occupational fields. Also, the study aimed to identify the associations between specific symptoms of burnout, age, number of years of service, and the level of satisfaction with life among the community police workers. The implications for community police workers psychological assistance were discussed.
