Adolescents and Drug Use in Current Society. From Curiosity to Consumer Behavior

Abstract: Adolescents in the current society have temptations of all kinds, including drug use. An even minimal drug use, considered social consumption, can have serious consequences at physical, psychic and social level. Because adolescence is a period of fluctuations, it is important to have a permanent problem in the educational environment, the media, etc. of this social consumption and associated risks. Adolescents need to be properly informed about the consequences of the drug use and guided to specialist services where appropriate. The purpose of this article is to analyze the problem of drug use in adolescents. In this respect, a research was conducted in Suceava County in three high schools. The analyzed aspects are: the level of adolescents for drugs; the existence of a consumer entourage; perception of illegal drug use among adolescents; the causes of drug use among adolescents; perception of adolescents on the effects of drug use.
