Abstract: The present work aims to explore the presence of symptoms associated with the burnout syndrome in a number of 24 social workers who work within the General Direction for Social Work and Child Protection (DGASPC) Botoşani. The objectives of the investigation were the following: a) exploring possible stress factors at the organizational level according to the six categories identified by Christine Maslach and Leiter Michael (1999) and b) identifying the level of self-perceived stress by social workers. The results of the study indicate a favorable self-perception of the existence of burnout or at least an increased level of stress felt at work, by identifying some variables evaluated as unfavorable for the achievement of work in a fair, transparent and balanced framework.
