Abstract:
This paper seeks to explain, how middle-school principals in the state of Morelos, Mexico, experience, perceive and heed violence that is generated inside and outside school campuses throughout 10 years implementation of the “School Safety Program”. The research is a qualitative study, the tools employed were observation, and a survey with open-ended questions addressed to 82 middle-school principals. The findings show school agents have developed metacognitive security practices for the resolution of contextual problems of school violence likewise, they work collaboratively with parents, teachers, students, and the community.
