Abstract: „How to become better parents?” is a programme addressed to foster parents which purpose is to present alternatives and options in educating their children, as well as to develop a social network between parents. The advantage of this parental education programme is that they can learn from each other’s experiences, they can see different points of view and ways of dealing with extreme situations. It is interesting to observe how the programme achieves its objectives, which are the evaluation methods of what they teach (checking „the homework”, analyzing the behaviour of the foster parents, through the examples they give). An important aspect that can be taken into consideration in obtaining the expected results is to establish the discussion themes with the parents. There maybe subjects of great importance which are not presented; a foster parent has another view over the child, and is confronted with different situation, like confessing to the child the fact that he/ she is adopted, fear of the possible rejection or lack of communication of the child.
