A Note on an Ethnic Homogeneity Kuznets Curve

Thomas Tiemann (), Jayoti Das () and Cassandra DiRienzo

Challenge, 2006, vol. 49, issue 2, 112-120

Abstract: At lower levels of income, the authors find, nations are more ethnically diverse. As nations become industrialized, their populace becomes more ethnically homogeneous. Finally, as nations move toward the highest levels of income, their populace returns to a more ethnically diverse state. The result is what the authors call an Ethnic Homogeneity Kuznets Curve. And they argue that there are interesting policy implications.
