The Next Priority for Health Care: Federalize Medicaid

Greg Anrig

Challenge, 2011, vol. 54, issue 3, 95-115

Abstract: President Barack Obama's health-care reforms require the states to enroll more of the poor in Medicaid. They have rebelled. But the current friction, exacerbated by the recession, has focused attention on the need for sweeping reforms of the U.S. government. Greg Anrig believes the best way to make Medicaid work efficiently is to federalize it. His well-formulated case is very persuasive.
