Economics as If Caring Matters

Riane Eisler

Challenge, 2012, vol. 55, issue 2, 58-86

Abstract: Why is caring for children not a more central part of economic models? Indeed, caring in general is undervalued and underpaid. Why is that, when it is so vital to both economic and social health? The author calls for a different model of sustainable growth and development.
