Be Outraged by Austerity

Stephany Griffith-Jones and Richard Jolly

Challenge, 2013, vol. 56, issue 1, 40-60

Abstract: The authors argue that the current austerity policies in Europe must be replaced by Keynesian policies that promote gender equality and reductions in inequality and return finance to its rightful place as the servant of the economy, not its master. Many of the ideas are adopted from practices already in place in developing countries.
