The Republican Tax “Reform” Won’t Stop Inequality

Abstract:
Inequality isn’t driven by taxes—it’s driven by the power of capital in relation to workers. To reverse the rapid growth in inequality would require more rapid wage growth. Another possibility is a public wealth fund that would accumulate capital gains for workers. The Republican tax bill is likely to make matters worse.
