Muslims and Social Participation in Rome
Giuliana Candia
Migration Letters, 2005, vol. 2, issue 3, 345-365
Abstract:
The European Faiths and Social Cohesion project was conducted in Italy by the Parsec association. The question of Is-lam in this country has just begun to be considered (Candia, 2004) and the establishment of this religion is still rarely be-ing considered at a local level and in a way that would allow the specific characteristics and qualitative aspects to be understood, and in particular, the actions aimed at eliminating the religious discrimination towards Muslims. Here's the case of social participation of Muslim immigrants in several neigborhoods of Roma.
