Abstract: New important aspect of the transition economies of the Visegrad Group was to build the competitiveness of their national economies towards integration into the global market economy and the European structures. Entry to the EU has brought more advantages to the countries of Visegrad Group. They increased their economic power, they increased their exports, improve the quality of living standards and especially Slovakia and Poland have managed to more than double the growth of gross domestic product. The fundamental objectives of the V4 in the first decade were filled with successful implementation of socio-economic transformation, deepening regional cooperation. For the benefit of these countries, it is to remain at the heart of the European integration process and that actively influence European policies, as far as possible act consistently, because globally they are perceived as a single region.
