Abstract:
The performance of the Italian academic system in terms of patenting and licensing activities has improved over the past few years. Statistic data collected through the annual survey of the Italian Network for the Valorization of Research show that all indicators increased, but those concerning licensing revenues, and that such trend is consistent with that of other European countries. Collected data, on the one hand, can explain the investments done by universities to strengthen technology transfer activities. On the other, they witness an incomplete path that will require progressively the implementation of evaluation policies.
