Abstract: This note reviews the research project L’istruzione in Italia tra sette e ottocento, coordinated by A. Bianchi. The note emphasizes the value and the originality of the work and suggests further developmentsfor all this stream of research. Finally, it advises the two communities, historians of education and economic historians, some ways to produce fruitful collaborations.
