Abstract: Top down New seismic images reveal the geometry of the Indian plate as it passes beneath the Himalayan plateau. Several important subsurface features of vanished India are revealed, including a shear zone above the base of the Indian crust beneath the Himalaya, and conversion of the deep Indian crust into denser rock.
