Abstract:
Time saver Stephen Hawking's Brief History of Time tops many lists of ‘unread’ bestsellers. In A Briefer History of Time, reviewed in Autumn Books, Hawking updates and shortens the original. Would-be readers who fell at the first chapter will find it subdivided into three easier-to-digest chunks.
