Abstract:
Ice Sculpture Spectacular images obtained by Mars Express were interpreted as evidence of recently active glaciers, and therefore of snowfall. In an online Brief Communication Arising, Alan Gillespie and colleagues offer an alternative explanation for these structures. Ice, yes. But it could have been frozen groundwater rather than frozen snow.
