Abstract: Calculated to thrill In A Certain Ambiguity, Gaurav Suri and Hartosh Singh Bal use the thriller genre to take the reader on a journey through the history of mathematics, from Pythagoras, via non-Euclidean geometry to relativity. Nature's reviewer, Katherine Körner, seems to have enjoyed it. Though the token female's role as 'love interest' grates.
