Abstract: Architectural features In The Origins of Genome Architecture, Michael Lynch has written what could become a classic text in evolutionary biology. Reviewer Axel Meyer rates it a 'must read' for every genome researcher, but cautions that Lynch's strong opinions — that largely non-adaptive forces shaped genomes — will not be accepted by all.
