Abstract:
Myxopyronins on target A crystal structure of the antibiotic myxopyronin bound to bacterial RNA polymerase (RNAP) reveals insights into how the antibiotic targets the formation of the pre-catalytic transcription initiation complex and the mechanism of open complex formation. The myxopyronins are possibly the first structurally characterized class of antibiotics known to act on this decisive step in gene expression control.
