Abstract: Innate immunity: keeping control The innate immunity response must be kept under tight control, since a disproportionate response could be harmful to host tissues as well as to the invading pathogen. Guarda et al. this week report a role for activated T lymphocytes in exerting that control. Effector and memory CD4+ T cells are shown to inhibit NLRP1 and NLRP3 inflammasome activity
