Abstract: Leslie Vosshall, head of the Laboratory of Neurogenetics and Behavior at Rockefeller University, New York, this year earned tenure and a promotion to the position of Robin Chemers Neustein Professor. She tells Nature that the new post makes her eager to work harder and guard against resting on her laurels.
