Robert Boyd: Robert Boyd is the Canada Excellence Research Chair in Quantum Nonlinear Optics at the University of Ottawa, Canada, and professor of optics and of physics at the University of Rochester, New York, USA. Charles Townes was his PhD adviser at the University of California, Berkeley, from 1971 to 1977.
