Nanoscale scythe cuts molecular tethers using mechanical forces

Abstract: Nanoscale systems that release small molecules have potential therapeutic and industrial uses, but can result in low numbers of molecules reaching their target. A release system triggered by mechanical force offers a fresh approach.
