Vertrauen und Moralentwicklung. Vertrauen im Unternehmen als Resultat eines situativen, moralischen Beurteilungsprozesses

Heiner Steinberg

Zeitschrift für Wirtschafts- und Unternehmensethik - Journal for Business, Economics & Ethics, 2017, vol. 18, issue 1, 17-37

Abstract: Trust is important for business ethics and generally for building cooperation as well as solving social dilemmas. The formation of trust includes a potential dilemma situation, which could be solved by applying trust into trust. Popular approaches explain the foundation of trust by focusing on self-interest and some moral motivation. Following the review of these existing approaches, it is proposed to consider trust in business as the result of a situation-specific moral judgement process. This proposal is based on the Neo-Kohlbergian theory on morale development by Minnameier. Furthermore, in trust research, references are made especially to the approach of Genuine Trust by Rose.
