Gemeinwohl-Ökonomie und die Hintergrundbedingungen des Markts

Rudolf Dujmovits and Richard Sturn

Zeitschrift für Wirtschafts- und Unternehmensethik - Journal for Business, Economics & Ethics, 2019, vol. 20, issue 3, 346-375

Abstract: We discuss the scheme of common good accounting as the core element of the common good economy suggested by Christian Felber, including associated state-governed mechanisms incentivizing common good-oriented behavior at the firm level. We sketch various lines of critique, related to (1) functional problems of the envisaged mechanisms, (2) an overly dense conception of the good life implied by the suggested notion of common good, and (3) the lack of attention paid to existing forms of regulation and market embedment.
