Schwächen privater Regulierung globaler Güterketten durch Siegel

Jakob Graf

Zeitschrift für Wirtschafts- und Unternehmensethik - Journal for Business, Economics & Ethics, 2020, vol. 21, issue 3, 309-335

Abstract: In the context of climate change and forest fires, global forest management is coming back into focus. One of the most important players in this field is the Forest Stewardship Council (FSC), which certifies forest products. The present contribution argues that private regulation mechanisms have systematic weaknesses and, looking at the case of the Chilean forest industry, claims that this is particularly true for the regulation of global extractivist commodity chains.
