Normativity in Homannian Ethics

Gerhard Minnameier

Zeitschrift für Wirtschafts- und Unternehmensethik - Journal for Business, Economics & Ethics, 2023, vol. 24, issue 2, 150-163

Abstract: The article discusses various aspects of Homannian ethics and argues that perhaps the one that is most important from a genuinely ethical point of view has also been the most neglected one. This is the solution of the problem of global ethics based on economic method. In particular it is the problem of how to get from minimalist to maximalist global ethics. It is explained how Homannian ethics solves this problem and how truly normative ethics can be the result of purely economic analysis.
