Gibt es ein Menschenrecht auf ethische Bildung? (Is There a Human Right to Ethical Education?)

Abstract: Eine komplexere Welt verlangt den Individuen hohe Kompetenzen verschiedenster Art ab, nicht zuletzt ethische Kompetenzen. Auch moderne Gesellschaften sind fuer ihr Funktionieren und ihren Zusammenhalt auf ethisch kompetente Mitglieder angewiesen. Das 1948 in der Allgemeinen Erklaerung der Menschenrechte kodifizierte „Menschenrecht auf Bildung“ impliziert daher auch ein Recht auf ethische Bildung. Der Beitrag schliesst mit Hinweisen auf dessen Umsetzung in Aus- und Fortbildung. (Today, individuals are challenged by a world of growing complexity. They need a lot of capabilities, among them also ethical capabilities like moral sensibility, powers of moral judgement and moral argumentation, moral motivation and moral responsibility. On the other hand, also modern societies need ethically qualified individuals for their own functioning and their social integration. This is even true for the economic subsystem of society. Therefore, the right to education, declared in the UN-Universal Declaration of Human Rights of 1948, also implies a right to ethical education. The article ends giving some indications to the practical consequences for training and continuing education.)
